Women's Health

Pain

For many women, pain can occur for a number of factors outside of physical injuries. Pain may present in women with period pain, back or pelvic pain from pregnancy and associative pain that may stem from hormonal reasons such as headaches and migraines.

Just because these types of pain are commonplace, it doesn’t mean that they should be overlooked. Through the pressures of work, family and life, our practice would like to support all women who want to prioritise their health and wellness. We enjoy working with women who want to get to the bottom of their symptoms.

Ongoing symptoms shouldn’t be treated lightly and any underlying issues should be thoroughly investigated by your GP.

By taking into account diagnosis or treatment from your GP, our practitioners are cognisant to your individual situation. Our practitioners are patient and perceptive to the range of problems that can arise to different people at different stages of life.

Period Pain

Many women may experience some form of period pain, but for some this pain can be excruciating and debilitating. What’s more, it’s hard to predict the severity and duration of period pain.

The Australian government’s Health Direct website describes two types of period pain - primary and secondary.

Primary period pain can be described when there seems to be no underlying condition. It’s often unknown as to what exactly causes this type of pain and symptoms like cramps can be very common.

The secondary type of period pain is caused by other underlying problems that can include conditions like endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease.

It’s very difficult to tell period pain conditions apart, so we believe it’s important that any ongoing symptoms are investigated fully by a GP to seek out or rule out any other potential underlying problem. We’re cognisant of the spectrum of issues that can arise and aim to support you alongside your GP.

It can be discouraging to experience things like aches, tiredness and nausea every month. If you’d like a practitioner who cares about your menstrual cycle and hormonal health, book an appointment with us.

IVFs

Our team has had over 17 years experience working alongside singles and couples who are wanting to go through the IVF process. We understand that IVF can be time consuming, financial costs can be expensive, and repeated cycles can be physically and emotionally exhausting.

At our clinic, we aspire to create a supportive and understanding environment to ease the stress and worries that come with the maze of IVF treatments, appointments, scans and protocols. Reducing stress levels may contribute to a more positive experience during this taxing time.

We encourage all men and women who are going through IVF to have had full testing by their GP or other specialists to ensure there are no other underlying issues that could hinder conception.

Any diagnosis of infertility from your specialist and the IVF cycle stage you’re at can be taken into account, and within our Chinese medicine framework we can discuss techniques for relaxation and rest. To make things as easy as possible, you can also book an appointment online whenever you’d like to see us.
